Responsibilities
•Support the Vehicle Dynamics development and tuning of FAS-equipped Customer vehicles.
•Perform objective and subjective vehicle-level assessments of vehicle performance.
•Support debugging, data logging and reporting any vehicle-level attribute deficiencies or FAS system-level issues to core engineering teams.
•Represent ***’s Vehicle Integration & Performance team at customer test locations for vehicle-level testing, tuning and debugging ‘in-field’ with the Customer.
•Support with vehicle build, re-flashing and FAS systems engineering discussions with the customer.
•Working with the Plant Quality and Procurement Team to assess the performance impact of production changes.
•Working with *** HW & Controls teams, support the continual vehicle-level performance innovation efforts for the *** FAS system.
•Interface with the Business Development team, presenting and demonstrating the *** FAS system to prospective customers.
Essential Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
•Degree qualified in an engineering field.
•Minimum of 5 years of Automotive Tier 1/Tier 2 experience in Vehicle Dynamics or Chassis tuning and development in ride, handling and steering.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
•A genuine interest in continuously improving vehicle ride and handling performance – Highly pro-active and collaborative.
•Extensive experience in vehicle subjective evaluation and a good understanding of chassis system components (e.g. springs, stabilizer bars, bushes etc.) and their effect on vehicle-level attributes.
•Experience of the vehicle chassis development walk from early mule to production release.
•Working experience in damper tuning (passive and/or semi-active) for ride, handling and steering.
•Working knowledge of real-time controller calibration (e.g. CANape, INCA etc.).
•Strong understanding of objective testing methods and data analysis for ride comfort, steering and handling.
•Experience of working with model-based systems and SW engineering tool set (MATLAB Simulink, Speedgoat, dSpace MicroAutoBox etc).
•Basic knowledge of standard communication protocols (e.g. CAN, FlexRay, SPI, etc.).
•Ability to communicate clearly in English and experience of having technical discussions with customers.
Preferable Qualifications and Experience
•Understanding of system level and vehicle level NVH analysis.
•Experience of vehicle dynamics simulations.
•Experience of developing, maintaining, and debugging real-time embedded systems.
